Not sure why the cover has a cupcake when everything baked is bread. I found the characters extremely mediocre, with the women's defining trait being saying "shut up" all the time and the men's main trait being "I'm rich" for most of the…

I enjoyed this sometimes pleasant, sometimes tragic and sad story that follows a familiar Colgan recipe about a woman leaving a failed relationship and unmanageable life by abruptly escaping to a remote location where she can (maybe)…

A pleasant, light read about second chances. I did the audio version of this title and did not like the narrator for the male characters.

Maybe the cover with the cupcake was to indicate how overly sweet this book was. In a world where there seems to be nothing but tragedy, this fair-tale book was welcome relief! Loved the puffin! The cover however should have had a loaf…

Very sweet, totally unrealistic but it is nice to dream that we can find prince charming in a beautiful island doing the job we dream to do! Easy to read, well done descriptions and super interesting characters.

I enjoy a good romance story, but rarely a book that has been exclusively catalogued as a romance. This particular Jenny Colgan book isn't actually catalogued as a romance, but contains all the corniness and tropes I usually roll my eyes…

The writing just didn't do it for me. Couldn't read past the first chapter. Didn't like the author's writing style at all.

Cute little romance set in a small town on the water. Quick read, but super sweet!

This was a cute read. It definitely fits into the genre of single woman’s’ life falls apart, she moves and starts a business and meets a new beau. It’s the equivalent of a chick flick in a book and I love it. This book was very chill and…

Was about 100 pages too long. Sweet read but a bit frustrating with the back and forth, and dang it when will people learn to say what they're thinking.

The Little Beach Street Bakery by Jenny Colgan was a nice beach read. The main character, Polly, is endearing. After her career and relationship go awry she moves to the Polbearne, a small village on the Cornish coast of England. She…

The perfect summer reading or winter weekend novel! A MUST READ for anyone who enjoys a well-written story of a woman finding herself. Polly loves to bake; I love to bake. Polly rescues a bird; I rescue birds. Polly gets a bit daft about…

This book has a unexpectedly touching storyline about the Cornish island , and it's people. Polly goes to live there as she cannot afford mainland rents. The locals are a colorful bunch, and I love puffin Neil, and Polly's type A friend…

Overall a fun beach read, but the second half fell flat for me as characters become less believable.

I really enjoy books by Jenny Colgan. I really liked this book and she is a good writer. It is like you are there in Cornwall. As I read this book, all I wanted to do was bake some bread. Recipes are also included! :)
