With this screen adaptation of Austin Wright’s book, multi-talented writer/director/fashion designer Tom Ford brings the “story within a story” trope to a dark psychological level with Susan’s real life becoming increasingly overshadowed…

I watched this some time ago for the first time and I didn't like it. I found it confusing, even though I did realize that the story of the book was inside the story of the movie. The second time I saw it it became unforgettable. But the…

Like designer turned director Tom Ford's first film, "A Single Man," "Nocturnal Animals" is very pretty and very boring, even if it's sort of a thriller. There's a double narrative that hangs together loosely and a lot of good actors with…
I watched this awhile ago and maybe I missed the first 5 minutes because I don't remember the disgusting horror others report. I do however remember the toilet scene, and I LOVED it, total perfection in my mind.
It is just as well that the director, in the bonus material, explains what the movie is all about, because the two stories do not mesh as well as he would have us believe. The inside story, from the novel, is a very conventional tale of…

It was interesting with a good story, I would have given it four stars if not for the first five minutes as it was just disgusting and unnecessary.

A very good movie with a fantastic soundtrack by the very gifted Abel Korzeniowski that is reminiscent of Bernard Hermann. This is a reflective movie with excellent casting, direction, production values and superb acting.

The first five minutes are the most disgusting thing I have ever witnessed. Then it turns to love and horror and terror and revenge. By the way, the accents are corny.

This is a quintessential Tom Ford movie. It's sensual, it makes the hair on the back of your neck stand up, and it'll take you on twists and turns you aren't expecting. He pushes the actors boundaries and everyone was so well cast in this…

I’m not going to even tell you what this movie is about—what it’s theme is—because that would rob you of the pleasure you’ll get from deciding that for yourself.
“Sounds like work!” I imagine some will say. Nah. It’s fun! Believe me, I…

I did not really like this film. The opening scenes were disgusting. I know they were supposed to be art, but they were over-the-top terrible. The toilet scene was completely unnecessary to the story and revolting! I appreciated the way…

Intriguing movie with a story inside of a story. Michael Shannon doesn't have billing on the cover, but I found his role to be important and interesting as well. Watch the bonus features to gain insight on the parallel between the stories.

More like narcoleptic animal. Jake Gyllenhaal also stars in 'Nightcrawler', which ironically could have switch names with this movie and no one would be the wiser. It's sad that Hollywood used a thesaurus's synonym feature to help name…
