2016 A drama of an older New Yorker "fixer" who has been beaten down by life who tries desperately to make political connections and bring some financial stability to his life. The poor guy is in desperate situations but I enjoyed this…

Richard Gere is amazingly convincing as Norman, a somewhat clueless, laser focused, wanna be political insider/wheeler dealer/ fixer. Quite tenatious , he succeds in digging himself into a HUGE hole of favors owed.

Not a comedy. A very sad story of an elderly, pathetic, pathological liar who wants to be important by attaching himself in unwelcome ways to people with power and money. The story plods along with Gere's character frustrating the people…
Cringeworthy and kind of sad, but unique and mildly entertaining. Power, wealth and politics are either appealing or nauseating...but seldom both. The karma involved in this movie justified it's length. Gere was superb.

Written and directed by Joseph Cedar in 2016, this American drama depicts the life and struggle of an elderly, complex, scheming New York con-man called Norman.

I loved this unusual movie. Just love the way the story line is tied to leadership and the peace issues in the Middle East. I also like how it showed how powerful politicians started as ordinary people and the things they do to hold to…

I had picked this 2016 film, since it had Richard Gere (An Officer and a Gentleman; Pretty Women; Chicago), of which I had not seen anything by him for awhile, but my partner and I gave up on watching this after the first 47 minutes. Then…

Richard Gere's character was annoying to watch, but the way the movie played out and came together at the end made it worth seeing ........ Gere did seem to be channeling Woody Allen at times, but Allen would have been a caricature in the…

Felt this movie was too dragged out. I can imagine such a person being a dealer in trying to make connections with everyone...maybe to be a part of everyone's life. Maybe they are too lonely or maybe they just want to know everything.

Not my cuppa tea. I literally could not stand to watch it because it was too embarrassing and upsetting. Too much degrading schmoozing, too much angst, too much desperate & humiliating behavior. This movie tapped into some really primal…

Norman was a strange one. Wore the same clothes. Why did we never see his apartment? Movie to long, appeared as though he lived on the street. Special features interesting. Never did figure out if the green items he was eating was candy or…

It's not often I feel like watching a 2 hour movie but this one makes the cut. But be warned, you have to pay attention to the wheeling and dealing going on to appreciate the tension in the deals Norman orchestrates. The 'action' in the…
