A believable view of the lives and direction of drug users, though tragic and sad. I appreciated the space provided to viewers to reach a personal conclusion on the troubled circumstances of the characters instead of providing easy, predictable results.

I have now seen it, and it is a really good movie. Matt Dillon did such a good job. I recommend it for all Matt Dillon fans

Damn great film. I'm a dope fiend, plain and simple. I'm currently in recovery but this film has such an accurate depiction of "the life" that it all at once repels me and draws me close enough to romanticize it all. Addiction is a powerful force/condition and it never really goes away once you've accepted the dark into your life.

Still my favorite Gus Van Sant film and a fascinating look at pre-Portlandia Portland.

This movie was entertaining and interesting but not one of my favorite for this year. Not too bad---good performance. I fast forwarded a lot but not all the way.

This wasn't the worst movie I've ever seen, it is far from being good. I fast forwarded a lot but not all the way.

This film was made before ANYONE was talking about perscription drug abuse, like 20+years ago! Matt Dillon Is great, probably his best film, and this was also the 1st film thatHeather Graham did that did not require her folks permission as she had turned 18. Great choice to start her career as shr was only on Twin Peaks for about 10 minutes in season 2 as Agent Cooper's potential love interest.(what can I say, I'm a David Lynch fan). Gus Van Sant has a great film with Drugstore Cowboy, and the best part, he got William S Burroughs to play Tom the priest! Awesome as we all know Burroughs is no stranger to addiction. A must see film!
