A movie to be appreciated by those who enjoy a meaningful and high quality story line - humorous at times and dramatic at times with all-around FANTASTIC acting. Every scene has a reason. Every line contributes to the overall meaning of the film. No wasted scenes. Not for movie-goers who are "waiting for something to happen" or who get up to get popcorn. The dialogue IS what happens. Chewing a piece of Juicy Fruit gum will take on greater meaning for you after watching this film. :-) Possibly Nicholson's greatest work as character Randal Patrick McMurphy. Louise Fletcher was amazing as Nurse Ratched. Supporting cast was OUTSTANDING! Detail-oriented movie watchers will enjoy this movie. Action-oriented movie fans or people who are disturbed by the mental health institution setting may not enjoy this film. Would not recommend for young people -- 15 and over in general.

Jack Nicholson is super charismatic as a free-spirited character who refuses to abide by the rules at a mental institution, in a great drama that has its best moments when showing his obstinate attempts to get through to people who have given in to conformism.

A great cast, great screenplay and great performance makes One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest an enjoyable and thought provoking movie.

Good movie. Had me absolutely bawling my eyes out at the end. Exposes the flaws of our Broken American, puritanical, system of mental institutions. It really made me worry about the people in there. Excellent acting, however, and the acting and the direction itself were superb, and make this film a sheer JOY to watch.

If only I was told many years ago, how much the world can sometimes wear you down.

Who is mentally ill? Anyone any doctor says is. Here is a link to a new mental health measure before Congress you really should know about. Read them and weep.

Definitely in my top 100 list of great films. There are few films as great as the book. This is one of them. If you haven't read the book, check it out. How could they have had nurses giving group therapy? She had serious control issues, Phew!

Absolutely great, but it kinda lost me in the middle of the movie. The ending was worth the wait, and Jack Nicholson doesn't fail to entertain, once again! :)
