A heartwarming look at a mother's love for her son and his love for her as it comes full circle.

A touching story about mother's love. It's always hard for me to read it to children at the daycare I work in, with no tears in my eyes. When I read it to my little daughter I hold her and swing her as it is in the story and sing the song. She loves it. I believe and I hope she is going to remember those special moments and she will do the same with her children one day. Thank you Robert Munsch for writing this beautiful story.

The early parts of this book are sweet, but the mother sneaking into her adult son's house across town is just creepy. Not my favourite book.

disturbing story with even creepier illustrations. Runaway Bunny by Margaret Wise Brown portrays a mother's (parent's) love much more subtly and beautifully. Or Guess How Much I Love You is a similar message and great illustrations.

Kind of dark for a kids book and not real parent friendly. I wouldn't read this one to my kid.

The book is about a mother who sneaks into her sleeping son's room, from childhood to adulthood, at night, picks him up in her arms, and then sings a lullaby to him. Once the mother becomes elderly and unable to sing the son the lullaby, the son then goes and picks the mother up, cradles her in his arms, and then sings the lullaby to the mother. The mother passes away and the son has a daughter and he goes into his daughter's room, picks her up in his arms, and then sings the lullaby to his daughter.

"There was a mother who had a new baby, and she picked it up and rocked it, back and forth, back and forth, back and forth, and she sang 'I'll love you forever, I'll like you for always, as long as I'm living my baby you'll be'. The son walked over to the mommy, he picked her up and rocked her, back and forth, back and forth, back and forth, and he sang, "'I'll love you forever, I'll like you for always, as long as I'm living my mommy you'll be'.
