agree with amethyst 9 that story was too slow and as much about the father the con man than the spies, the brotherhood. likely a break through on cold war spying in the past, but a bit light in technology and depth today.

this is an excellent presentation
of what it is to be in a world within a world. From the English (old school) very cloak and dagger. Pym is presented as a repressed and conflicted manipulator of others having learned to tread on the thin ice of being around as a child of all manor and sort of corrupted adults. Into Adulthood he learns some very real and hard lessons of survival when cut off in another country from financial support by a twisted and charming con artist. during those times and carried on today thieves and killers are still in great demand as operators the secret world of international espionage. However never much as a James Bond film. Le carre is tough to beat in presenting fictional and yet realistic espionage

I was disappointed in this set of seven episodes. The first two episodes mainly focused on Magnus Pym's boyhood and young adult years and although relevant to his later decisions and lifestyle, were much too long... it was slow going.
Pym's father was a con man, and very charismatic. Pym didn't seem anywhere near as charming, despite several references to his charm. Seen as a whole, the series is about the rise and fall of a spy.
The film style seems dated with music cues that can be annoying. The sound was uneven.
