I get it there isn't much in the way of dialogue and it doesn't have that happy element required by so many people. That being said, I think that this film is extraordinary. The imagery tells the story and the film is stunningly shot. Mads Mikkelsen is incredible in his ability to express without words. There's nothing to "get. " Just watch and pay attention. It's about the subtly and as a viewer - observing and inferring.

This film is not meant for TV watching it needs a theater. Yes the slowness of this movie is hell, so that means it accomplished its feel.
...mostly Mads Mikkelsen is just great.

This is a 2009 English-language Danish adventure drama directed by Nicolas Winding Refn.
In the first half an hour come a lot of gratuitous violences with no intereting story at all.
Although a big star like Mads Mikkelsen appears to bring a good story, the film actually does NOT bring me into the movie.
I get bored to hell and quit viewing it halfway though.
It is a pity that this director cannot make a good movie out of a bad script.

Like Green_Bird said, that is the only reason why I even thought of watching this movie. Just awful! I fast forwarded most of the movie. The lack of dialog in this movie makes it so slow that you would rather watch paint dry. Don’t bother.

I'm a big fan of Mads Mikkelsen, but....

Disappointing.
Starts out promising Action Violence Epic Journey,..
and then goes all Art House 'mysteriously meaningful' (and tediously slow).

I'm suprised that some critics still fall for this sort of thing !

This is an interesting and weird movie. Throughout it, I wondered who One Eye was. Is he a bad guy, a misunderstood guy, a savior? I'm a big Mads Mikkelsen fan, which is why I watched this movie. He doesn't speak a word but his expressions tell all.

If you are looking for a straight up action film, look elsewhere. I imagine if Herzog made a Viking epic it would be very similar to this. Mikkelsen is incredible as the mute "One Eye" and there is just the right balance of tension, atmosphere and philosophy. A+

Very bad. I didn't finish the movie. I would describe it as a mute one-eyed viking guy going on the worst adventure possible with a bunch of dumb God-men.
