Mr. Pelecanos is spot on veterans. Ex-cellent on many levels. Let go and enjoy yourself.
My first (and probably last)Pelecanos book. The writing is barely a C+ and I gave up fairly early on.
Got through half, and got bored. Heard so many great things about Pelecanos so I'm starting on his first "A Firing Offense" in hopes that "Cut" was just a slip in his otherwise stellar record.
Pelecanos does it again. One of the true masters of contemporary crime fiction. Have read all his books and have never come across one that was a disappointment.
Very disappointing book. I've read and enjoyed Pelecanos' earlier works, but this falls short.
I was surprised at the lazy writing. Characterization by clothing fails, if the reader doesn't know the labels' significance. Same goes for citing musicians and songs. It will be out of date soon.
An Iraq war veteran turned private investigator gets entangled in the affairs of a high-profile crime boss.
