Boring black & white movie with poor story line. Over rated. 30 minutes was enough!!!!!!!

More akin to legitimate theater than movies. Good acting and a thoughtful theme executed by one of the masters: Jason Robards.

Jason Robard's stars in unlikely film classic "A Thousand Clowns". Based on a play and brought to the screen, it sometimes feels like your watching the play. So much happens in one apartment. Don't let this put you off. This is a wonderful film. It was released in 1965 a was well received. Over the years because it doesn't have big box office names in the cast, it may have been overlooked. KCLS has 6 copies and none are checked out. This is the type of comedy we would see from Neil Simon and his "The Odd Couple". This is a movie about an odd couple, but you won't get any more information from me. "A Thousand Clowns" is a real comedy since the story could all happen the same way today. I am very pleased KCLS has such a fine film in the catalog and I hope you enjoy it. Let me know your reaction here at the KCLS web site.

Not a mainstream movie, and it mixes up a sense of being a play and being a movie, but it is quite good on its own terms. Robards especially seems at times to mix up a bit when he is acting as in a play with when he is acting in a movie, but it works, and overall has a warm human comedic feeling.
