Season six of Waking the Dead has six two part episodes in one of the best seasons of the series. The episodes are complex, diverse and thrilling from start to finish. The cold case team investigates a group of Irish travelers with several dark secrets when a body is discovered buried in concrete. Members of a secret society that study and teach torture techniques are key to finding the missing skull of a royal Sudanese rebel leader. Several famous money scandals and their perpetrators are the focus of an investigation when the bodies of two missing scam artists are found. Three old murder cases that are somehow connected to a condemned group home for unwanted children are reinvestigated. A man who supposedly killed his parents escapes from custody where he had been a model mental patient for decades. The team opens a new investigation when the mental patient tells authorities where to find another dead body. Finally a cold case murder that happened just after World War II implicates a modern day Jewish family with ties to infamous Nazi war criminals. DS Boyd and Dr. Foley have a huge personal fight that threatens their relationship. In summary season six is extremely intense with many plot twists and turns in each episode.

TV series don't usually maintain their quality as well as this series does. The plots are trending toward the bizarre which isn't necessary to hold viewer interest since the scripts and acting are so good. I especially liked the last episode "Yahrseit".
