"Clay has lived his whole life under the mountain. The MudWing dragonet knows war is raging between the dragon tribes in the world outside - a war that he and four other dragonets are destined to end, according to the mysterious prophecy they have been taught. The five "chosen" dragonets were stolen from their homes while they were still in their eggs - and hidden away for years - all to fulfill the prophecy. But not every dragonet wants a destiny. And when danger threatens one of their own, Clay and his friends may choose freedom over fate ... leave the mountain ... and set the dragon world on a course that no one could have predicted." -- Jacket.

The School Library Journal grades this harshly dystopian, almost hopeless set of battles interspersed with a light plot and various scenes of graphic, gratuitous violence as grades 4 - 7. I disagree. My fifth-grade daughter and I separately pushed through it to the senseless death at the ending. It gives us a good counter-example to talk about.

Still, the skeleton plot is well-written, and the author is quite talented at sketching complete characters with just a few sentences. So I sorta enjoyed it.

I started with the moon rising book, and I liked that, so i decided to read the rest. Can't wait for them to arrive at my library. :-)

I <3 this series, and especially the first book! I didn't really like it how it keeps changing perspectives. You get really attached to one character (Like Clay), and then in the next book it switches perspectives. : P
But it's a great engaging "must read" series overall!
Sometimes I find myself up at 5:00 every night, and have finished almost two and a half books!

And how come everyone who reads this series reads "Warriors"???

And also if you're looking for good book suggestions try reading "The Fire Within" series. the first book sucks, but then it get insanely good later. And if you've read "Cinder"(Another crazy good book!) than you will know how seriously fat the books are. I think there's eight books in the series. They last you forever.

Another really engaging series is the "Gamenight999" series. Usually, Minecraft novels suck, but this one extremely good! And plus, theres like a million books in the series. So the series takes for EVER to finish. A nice, good, and long book series that's very entertaining.

I'm also posting a shout out to "Eragon". My favorite book so far out of all the books I've ever read!

Oh! And I must not forget my second favorite: "Tunnels". Awesome series!!!

Do you like books with dragons, prophecies, and war? If you do this book is for you. I highly recommended it.

The seven dragon tribes have been in war for years. There is a prophecy that says five dragonets will come and chose a new SandWing queen (Blister, Blaze or Burn) since the death of the sisters’ mother, Queen Oasis. The dragonets have been hidden in a cave for their whole life’s’ and are supposed to come out and save the world at the 20th year of the war.

Tsunami (the SeaWing dragonet) thinks the dragonets should escape from there guardian and save the world sooner and find their family.

Clay (the MudWing dragonet) is not so sure about leaving the cave and guardian. Dragons in Pyrrhia would love to get their claws on the dragonets and kill them to ruin the prophecy.

Will Clay chose to follow the prophecy and wait two more long years or make this own destiny?

Join this claw fighting adventure with Clay and the rest of the dragonets! This series has five more books. Keep an eye out for “The lost Heir”
If you like this book you may also like “Warriors”. Tui T. Sutherland (the author of Wings of Fire) is one of the six authors of the “Warriors” series.

I hope you enjoy this book!

The dragonets are coming, they're coming to save the day. They're here to fight, they know what's right, the dragonets hooray!

the dragonets of the prophecy have lived in a cave their whole lives, never experiencing the outside world. Apart from a few objects their guardians bring back they don't even know what it looks like! One day Clay, Glory, Tsunami, Sunny and Starflight decide to escape. Little do they know that this one decision will change their lives forever.

Follow clay as he escapes from his cave, runs in to the queen of the sky wings and even meets a dragon with burning scales!

Gladiator fights were never so good!
