26-year-old Jasper hasn't seen or heard from his older brother, Coleman, in over ten years. Until a freak accident and strange phone call change everything. With little more to go on than a random phone call, Jasper follows his brother's trail through the seedy, sensual Florida Everglades where a family mystery from his childhood may hold the key to Coleman's disappearance. A debut novel about loss, hope, and the ties that bind family together.

What a great story! Just the right number of characters, all perfectly drawn. The dialogue is perfect, certainly reads as authentic. Lots of funny, lots of serious. Highly recommended.

Quirky tale that wanders widely between vulgar and lyrical. I found there was too much description and I ended up skimming through much of it, but the storyline is strong and compelling enough to keep the reader engaged and tense right to the end. THe ending is satisfying and realistic.

It took me a bit to get into this book, and then I pressed on easily. It's funny, sad, troubling. A story of longing and courage, mixed with bitterness.

what a great read!....writing is flawless and good mix of characters from the sublime to the ridiculous...i'll be looking for the next one from Mr Crowe

(oh, and by the way - attention whoever wrote the description - Donny and Duane are not Jasper's brothers.....)
