My friend from New Orleans played this CD for me about 15 years ago during Mardi Gras. Such a departure from other Nilsson albums, and in general, it's an interesting precursor to all the more recent torch-song rehashes done by people who probably should have hung up the singing career long ago. Nilsson comes at this from a real place of innocence and purity. I really enjoy the extra takes, especially "Over the Rainbow". The orchestration is lush and masterful behind him.
