Freezing, starving and hurting... Seems crazy and foolish to me to climb a giant icy rock and put yourself in such a painful and dangerous position, but I guess these guys love it enough to risk their health and lives. To each their own.

If you like films about mountaineering in which climbers experience extreme conditions and respond with astonishing endurance, you must see this one. The climbers are tested on and off the mountain, and like most stories of endurance, the test of their mettle is more a matter of the mind than the body. An inspiring story with the veil of fantasy removed, Meru drops the usual romantic depictions of tough guys doing great things. I loved it.

Fantastic documentary about the attempt(s) to summit the Meru Peak in the Indian Himalayas. Beautifully photographed and edited, this film is a motivational wellspring, particularly the story of one the climbers, Renan Ozturk. If you're rehabilitating from an injury or just feeling grumpy about having to workout, think about MERU and it'll help put everything in perspective. Also, for all the Jon Krakauer fans out there, and I consider myself one, he is interviewed throughout the documentary.

lovely visuals, but appalling choices by men I simply don't understand or like.

Amazing docu. I have little interest in climbing even though this was informative with spectacular scenery. I just can't imagine the drive or challenge for this activity, especially with the possibility of leaving a family in grief or in economic stress. It seems somewhat of an addiction, a junkie to extreme danger.

This film has an incredible story. I could not believe what the climbers had to go through before their second attempt. It's a testament to their resolve and determination...and a little to their foolishness.

Great documentary and history to support Conrad's previous adventures. Plus anytime Jon Krakauer provides insight Im there! Content and visual footage both exceeded expectations!

Unlike "Everest 2015," this docudrama featured a trio of celebrated world class climbers and their two super human attempts to be the first to conquer the Meru Peak and its Shark’s Fin. As the DVD cover stated: " Believe In The Impossible" --- They will risk it all to conquer the impossible and be on the most dangerous mountain peak on earth.

Intriguing, beguiling and inspiring. Being physically limited and totally afraid of heights this film had me taking in big breaths of air. How brave these men are! Looking down from a perch and banking on the fact that they trusted each other implicitly I was truly impressed!

A film about a friendship through climbing a mountain; gives the viewer many reasons, especially if the viewer is male, to reconsider the activity. The images from on high are extraordinary and sublime.
