I have been reading spy books (first the Nazis, then the Vietcong, now the Middle East villains) for decades. This book is by far the best spy book in my memory. Harsh language? Sexual content? Well, yeah. It's not the Hardy Boys and the Mystery of the German Spy. If you like spy novels, you owe it to yourself to read this one. It's 700+ pages but worth every one. I enjoyed it better than any other Silva novel I have read. A Five Star for me.

The Unlikely Spy. --- by. --- Daniel Silva.
If you didn't read this novel you've missed out on something. The previous review notwithstanding, reading this book was not a waste of time and how I wish I could write like this.
This is a thrilling chilling novel set in the days nearing the end of the second world war. It's a story of espionage. You will wish you could read the story faster than you can .
Silvas turn of words almost has you hope the German spies will make a successful escape.
The story will keep you hanging on until the very end and then, you'll be sorry the story is at its end.

coarse language and outright swearing, sexual content--as a result I didn't read this one.

What a waste of time. Could have written the whole thing with half the words. It was fast reading, as I simply read the topic sentences in paragraphs and skipped the rest. In many case, I skipped whole paragraphs and didn't miss a thing.
Obviously, Silva got his act together in later books, which I have read.

I thought this book was very well written but also extremely boring. The pace is quite slow and it only picks up almost at the end
