Another failed Hollywood remake of a classic movie. This was lame. 0 stars.

I thought this movie was awesome. I loved the characters and the new take on "The Ghostbusters" that we know and love.

GREAT time are most remakes

Most remakes are just pale copies. You can desperately tweak and splash on CGI but the film is constantly compared and judged with the first.
By itself, this was not a bad movie, although effectively mixing comedy and horror can be tricky.
Is it Abbott and Costello (straight slapstick) or Tremors (which I found scary) ?
This movie, despite the grand music and special effects, was more A&C.

Well, if you've seen the original Ghostbusters, you've just dated yourself, but it stands the test of time better than this sequel.
The CGI stuff is quite good however, and more elaborate than the original, but cameos by members of the original cast, while fun, are somewhat unnecessary and do little to support the script. Given the talents of the two principals, McCarthy and Whig, this movie could have been a hoot, in the vein of "Bridesmaids".
Still, harmless popcorn fun, and the kids will like it.

Our teen grandkid liked it much more than we did. It has a few laughs and not horrible, so you could manage this for a family movie night. Just average, but one particular character is funny enough.

What the last person said. It sucked. I really wanted to love this movie because I liked the first one, I like these actors (all of them, including Leslie Jones)... but it didn't work. A few good laughs, some interesting cameo appearances... it wasn't enough.

Waste of time! Not good for any age! Great to see the well-known actors, who did their best, but are wasted in this movie! Poorly directed, bad script, bad FX effects!

THOR is really B.A.D. here: Blond, Adorable and Dumb, plus he can go-go dance! Basically a reboot/update/etc. of the 1984(?) original with gender roles reversed. The actresses were trying their best, but bested by Thor as their dumb male secretary with Clark Kent specs. Hemsworth is filling the skirts of Sigourney Weaver here who had a mentor cameo alongside the original gang (Aykroyd, Murray et. al.) So so Sfx, not worth the popcorn.

Kevin: Would it be okay if I bring my cat to work sometimes? He has major anxiety problems.
Abby Yates: You know what? I would love to let your cat live here with you, but I have a pretty severe cat allergy.
Kevin: Oh, I don't have a cat. He's a dog. His name's My Cat.
Abby Yates: Your dog's name is My Cat?
Kevin: Mike Hat.
Erin Gilbert: Your dog's name is Mike, last name Hat?
Kevin: Well, his full name is Michael Hat.
Abby Yates: I can't say that I'm allergic to dogs... so.
Kevin: You know, it's all right. He lives with my mum.

But I saw that you had a recommendation letter from Dr. Branum at Princeton. Uh... Their science department is really not what it used to be. And I would consider getting a referral from a more prestigious college.
-More prestigious than Princeton?
This grandfather clock was on the Titanic and was saved by Sir Aldridge. A Romanian woman and her child were forced to leave the lifeboat to make room.
I am a genius. I see things that no one else does. And for it, I am rewarded with nothing but scorn and mockery. Luckily, I am not the only one seeking revenge. Behind these are millions of souls, souls which have been cast aside. Souls who see the world as it truly is, as garbage. Garbage that needs to be cleaned up. They're mostly dudes. When these barriers are destroyed, an army of the undead will return to pester the living.
Patty, I got four funerals this weekend. I can't do them with just one hearse.
-Maybe you could do two at a time.
We're not stacking 'em like flapjacks!
