Pretty good movie- I like director and actor Mike Birbiglia's style.

More of a drama than comedy...and the comedy really isnt that good. An interesting insight to how improv groups come up with ideas and interact but really kind of boring.

You can tell the cast genuinely likes each other and had a fun time making this movie together.

Indeed a smart movie, an insightful movie, a touching movie. I enjoyed the realism of presenting the life of comedians with real life (that isn't always so funny). The ego drama and the unavoidable moments that laughter can't always remedy. I broke it into two parts since it wasn't always the most entertaining movie but definitely worth the watch and cool to learn a little about the wonderful art form of improv.

Not sure why I didn't like this but I really did not find it funny. Very low budget film. One positive - I was introduced to comedians that I never new existed.

This is a thoughtful movie that explores relationship and friendship group dynamics in a relatable way. I liked the commentary on what it's like to move into your 30's having not achieved much. The plot arc looks at what happens when one member of a friendship group achieves great success but the others don't, and how that strains and tests the strength of everyone's friendships.
Good performances all around and the themes are easy to identify with for most people I would imagine.
Since it's not exactly high drama or suspense some may find it slow but it all depends on what type of movies you like and feel like watching at a given moment.

If you have ever enjoyed a stand up improv show, you will love this movie.
Funny and touching, about dynamics of people who are relatable.

As others have noted, this a drama about comedy. Apparently some people don't like that. It has its funny moments, but don't go in expecting a yuk fest like the poor sap who commented below me. Written and directed by Mike Birbiglia, who also co-stars, "Don't Think Twice" is about a long-running, close-knit improve troupe who are faced with two crises: they're losing their performance space and one of the members is cast in an "SNL"-like show. The film does a good job of showing the tensions between the group and how unhappy many people who work in comedy are. The cast is great: Keegan Michael Key (playing a bit of a showboater), Gillian Jaccobs ("Community"), Kate Micucci (Garfunkel & Oates), and 2 others whom I didn't recognize. Look for the celebrity cameos!

NOT funny AT ALL! Why this was billed as a comedy or got high ratings from the critics is a mystery. We were VERY disappointed, as we have liked Keegan Michael Key in other things. Perhaps we missed the entire point, but after an hour we no longer cared if it even HAD a point.

For eleven years, an improv group called The Commune has reigned as the big fish in the small pond of their New York improv theater. Commune members Miles, Samantha, Jack, Allison, Bill and Lindsay invent comedy without a script and without a net. They’re ingenious, they’re fast, and they build on each others’ ideas like best friends – which they also are. Night after night they kill onstage and wait for their big break. Day after day they work menial jobs to support themselves.

Then they get news that their theater is shutting down, and scouts from a hit TV show come to a performance looking for talent. Only two cast members get the nod, upsetting the dynamic of the group and leaving its future in doubt. Relationships begin to crack as six best friends face the truth that not all of them will make it, and for some, it may be time to give up on the dream and move on.

Funny, insightful and honest, DON’T THINK TWICE looks at a common experience that’s an uncommon subject for a film: failure. As he did in his acclaimed debut about a stand-up comedian, SLEEPWALK WITH ME, writer/director/actor Mike Birbiglia captures universal human experiences that happen in the lives of professional funny people.
