It has some redeeming features. Enough for me to keep watching but my finger was always close to the eject button. Another example of 'method' acting in which word enunciation has given way to whispering. The female 'hero' ( the girl from the finance dept ) was almost impossible follow; she spoke quickly in what sounded like a foreign language. Not a classic 'keeper' and I wouldn't bother to watch it again.

Watchable and a solid Affleck performance, but inconsistent story immersion.

Good action movie. Ben Affleck plays a dry cold character in this movie. It will show you why he is this way but still a very intelligent character and overall movie.

I really like Biblitz idea "Worthy of a TV series if..." There are many aspects of autism that leave much room for diversity, so to speak. And how Affleck's character manages, creating the survival mechanisms with his father's attitudes and training, while also giving a good idea of the other path his father could have taken (with the treatment program that does benefit from the Robin Hood Action in the end)... Well, how do I say it, in spite of all the focus on the assassin-building and employment of such a dog-eat-dog skill base, Affleck's character is ALSO smart enough to eventually assimilate and understand the conflicting elements of the moral dilemma that he resolves... The messages available for the viewer are many - including that each autistic person is ALSO unique, they learn in ways that call for the mental-emotional development of those of us who are able to at least present ourselves as "Normal" - the point of which statement (not so original in therapeutic circles) might be as multi-faceted as the film's messages. I'm betting Affleck knows that the audience that this film reaches might very well include the very people who, while attracted to the violence more than any other aspect, might get the most out of the depth that the film provides overall. After all, how often do we get everything all at once out of an rich experience. "Rich"? True, it's not Star Wars in epic proportions, it's just a movie, but with some very timely messages about psycho-emotional process that many people are just beginning to get. [Hint: Some things sink into our awareness, get put together, and not only later employed, but sometimes even put before our awareness for conscious review long after the fact: "insight."] And so... if done well, yes, a series might provide some very worthy and entertaining education (for those not reached through other venues centered on special-gifted individuals) about how we heal ourselves - through interaction with others, including those who naturally care for others, as well as with those who are learning to care for others, and those who do [any combination of the above] professionally. Thank you.

This movie was emotionally distributing,it represented the diease of autism very badly. Is this what we would want a father who represents our country to do to his child. He is a mindless unemotional killing machine.I give it no stars and do not recommend it at all.

Ben Affleck is the star of this surprisingly well thought out and emotionally compelling film.
This film has a lot of star power, the roles are small, but the acting is memorable. In addition, there are several messages running through the story line, one of which is regardless of the circumstances anything is possible, and family is the greatest source of strength.

Ben Affleck's acting career has been quite irregular in recent years with some well-played roles and many disappointing performances. I'm happy to say that he is in good form in this movie. It's not perfect, but his acting is mostly plausible. This film is violent, so not recommended for young, impressionable children.

However plausible the basic story, it was handled in a surprising and intelligent enough way to keep me. A few minor points that seemed unclear may have been better left out. The big issue seems to be moral ambiguity. This is a movie that shows crimes and gangsterism as ugly and scary, so according to the rules you don’t compromise with that. But Affleck’s character is fine working for the bad guys, except for sometimes. Was this was conceived as an aspect of his disorder? If so they should have clarified that. The characters and situations were interesting enough for them to make a good sequel, in which one hopes they work some bugs out. (Oh yeah: Affleck's character has terrible taste in art. Was that also conceived as an aspect of his disorder?)

1 in 68 children in this country are diagnosed with a form of autism. But if you can put aside for a moment what your pediatrician and all the other NT's have said about your son...
Neuro-typicals. The rest of us. What if we're wrong? What if we've been using the wrong tests to quantify intelligence in children with autism? Your son's not less-than. He's different. Now, your expectations for your son may change over time, they might include marriage, children, self-sufficiency. They might not. But I guarantee you. If we let the world set expectations for our children, they'll start low and they'll stay there. Maybe your son is capable of much more than you know. And maybe... Just maybe... He doesn't understand how to tell us. Or... we haven't yet learned how to listen.
I was trying to connect. I think no matter how different, we're all trying to do the same thing.

Some of my clients are...quite dangerous.
-I kind of consider fairly dangerous myself.
Well, you've made an improvement.
Say you're the head of the Sinaloa Cartel. Now the cartels count their money in eighteen wheelers. But one sunny Mexican day, your in-house money scrubber comes to you and says you're 30 million light. Who can you trust to do the forensic accounting to track your stolen cash? Deloitte & Touche? H & R Block?
Dolores, when you order supplies, do you order online?
-I don't, I just run over to the beads store.
-I drive, the truck.
The company truck.
Well, initially he was just stealing and garden-variety taxes evasion. But he came up with a better idea. You see, by taking his own money, stealing it and putting it back on his books. It was raining cash. He took the company public at eight dollars a share. A year later it was trading at seventy-five.
