a good movie, true to the book (which is rare nowadays), good acting impressive visual effects. The ink blots are definitely a very good visual idea.
Not recommended for young children of course, and it is a sad story.

An excellent film. Delivers an intelligent, thoughtful, and unconventional perspective on grief. Also, one of the very rare films worth watching again, with the screenwriter's commentary turned on. Sigourney Weaver's lackluster attempt at an English accent is the film's only shortcoming.

This movie is a real masterpiece! I sat stunned for some time and in tears. A beautiful and gripping story. I feel like this is one of those movies that will stay with you for a long time. You will learn so many things. In a metaphorical way the movie shows what the boy had to go through to cope with his mother's terminal illness. Very emotional, dramatic and deeply psychological. Directed by J.A.Bayona ("The Impossible"). Will recommend for young adults and adults.

This movie generates polar-opposite opinions and i agree with both sides. This movie can barely be labelled as entertainment with it's violence and dark themes, however for what it is, it is very well done and I easily recommend it for a mature audience. IMO the best thing about this movie is it is not a Hollywood movie.

Truly not a family night movie. Poorly done. Child's concerns/ actions ignored. The kid needed help and no one saw it ? Bad audio with the copy I had. Changed from one device to another and still audio very bad. Would not recommend if asked.

Who is the good guy here?
-There is not always a good guy, Conor O'Malley ... Nor is there always a bad one. Most people are somewhere in between.
===
A man of faith without faith. Believe is half of all healing. Belief in the cure, believe in the future that awaits. Your faith is valuable ... so you have to be careful where you put it and in whom.
===
It was not that he was actually invisible. It was just that people had become used to not seeing him.

Con, are you listening? One day, if you look back and you feel bad for being so angry you couldn't even speak to me, you have to know that that was okay, that I knew. Because I know everything you need to tell me without you having to say it out loud. And if you need to break things, by God, you break them. Break them, good and hard. And I'll be right there, Con. I wish I had a hundred years. A hundred years I could give to you.

Lessons learned:

How can both be true?
-How can a prince be a murderer and be loved by his people? How can an apothecary be evil-tempered but right-thinking? How can invisible men make themselves more lonely by being seen? I don't know.
-Your stories never made any sense to me.
Because humans are complicated beasts. You believe comforting lies while knowing full well the painful truth that makes those lies necessary. In the end, Conor, it is not important what you think. It is only important what you do.
-So what do I do?
What you did just now. You speak the truth.
-That's all?
You think it's easy? You were willing to die rather than speak it.
