My five star rating is bias as I worked in securitizations a long time ago and this topic interests me. Many people on Wall Street knew/know that the bond insurance industry was suspect, but Bill Ackman had the audacity to call them out and bet against them. He was right, but equally as lucky to have timed it correctly. Christine Richard writes well and is very informative. She did a great job researching the story, but really only gives one side. I forgive her because it is doubtful that MBIA wanted to talk about it honestly. It is a great story none the less. It shows just how far people will go to protect their turf and how sometimes the truth does prevail.
