I enjoyed Traces of Guilt and was looking forward to this second instalment of the series. I was a little disappointed in the lack of tension in this story. It probably reflects the reality of the daily grind of sifting through evidence and following numerous leads but doesn’t make the book much of a page turner. Coupled with Evie’s indecision about accepting Rob’s marriage proposal, there’s not much excitement on either front.
I imagine I will read the next book, if only to find out if Evie does decide to marry Rob.

I enjoy "Mystery and Detective Fiction" but failed to catch the additional descriptor "Christian" on this book. The title grabbed me. A cold case task force has been established by the state Governor and Evie Blackwell is an important member. Threads refer to the lines of inquiry she and her partner, David Marshal, develop to find a missing young woman. Over 200 and the suspicion spotlight focuses on several in turn. Fascinating. Is a second case, that of a missing private investigator, related to the first? A premise for a good read. Yet I never knew there was a sub-group of my favourite genre which added Christian preaching and American mid-west conservative morality. It's prominent. The things you learn. Not for me; I only have so much reading time. The leads are bland and close-to flawless. Is this sub-group a response to the main category with such flawed characters as Spenser, Carl Merck, Kinsey Millhone, and Virgil Flowers? My thanks to the librarian who added the extra descriptor; I promise to take you more seriously in the future.

The book shows the incredible amount of work that goes into an effort to solve cold cases. However, I think Evie's decision on marriage should have been made in this book as it was also part of the first book and this became very repetitive, otherwise a good read

Too much detail of fact of the cases. Just about quit half way through.

Boring police procedural.

Didn't realize how Christian and heterosexual book was.

This book is better than the 1st if that is even possible. I am so glad I found Dee Henderson, as one of my best authors.

I have always enjoyed Dee Henderson's books. Her characters are well developed and personable. This story kept me guessing until the end.

Interesting cold cases, liked how the investigators' personal lives weren't formulaic. Overall, very good!
