Read half and then could not finish. Couldn't keep up interest in characters.

Open marriage can lead to interesting circumstances as the reader learns in this novel. The story is not unusually compelling but the relationships are, nevertheless.

The story of what happens when a couple decides to open up their marriage. As the previous commenter mentioned, this is not high brow literature. But I agree that is a fun and light read - though I did feel lingering anxiety throughout most of the book, waiting for disaster to strike.

This is NOT high-brow literature. It Is, however, a very well-crafted tale of modern marriage and community. I dare you to hate any of these characters... Ms. Dunn has a way of showing the likable/vulnerable side to each of the story's characters. Exceeded my expectations!

The couple in this book have been married awhile and have a child with autism. There is not a lot of spark left in their marriage and based on a conversation at a party they decide to try an open marriage for six months. I don't want to give any spoilers but the situations that arise because of "The Arrangement" certainly give a peek into this marriage. The Blessing of the Animals was hilarious and horrifying at the same time! Interesting and fun read!
