Another great read by W.E.B. Griffin in his Clandestine Operations series. DEATH AT NUREMBERG is a continuation of his previous novel in this series CURTAIN OF DEATH. While it can be read as a stand alone, it is always better of you have read the three previous novels in this series as with all his series. The novels in this series are different in that they portray events which occur in Europe shortly after the end of World War II. It is clearly a time in which the various narions occupying Europe are jockeying for power and position - and during which the roots of the Cold War would be birthed. In DEATH AT NUREMBERG, Captain James Cronley is hot on the trail of the Nazi leadership of Operation Odessa. While also having been tasked with guarding the American justices serving at the multi-national Nazi War Crimes Tribunal, Cronley comes face-to-face with a number of the top, now imprisoned, Nazi leaders. As always with Griffin's leading characters, Cronley spends a good bit of time coloring outside the lines of his authority and battling with his superiors. Another fun read about a time long past, but rooted in a time of our history that doesn't get a lot of attention. I have been a Griffin fan since publication of THE LIEUTENANTS (Brotherhood of War series) in 1982 and read all his books since then. This too is a fun read. As a side-note, Griffin in this novel writes about a period he knows something personally about, having been trained counter-intelligence he served in Occupied Germany during the period covered by this novel.

A great read. It is a continuation of the author's ww2 series. I recommend this book.
