Finally the justice system is starting to see that women who are trafficked for sex are not the offenders, they are the victims. This particular case is a horrendous example of a victim who killed someone who was trying to rape her and got a life sentence. As it turns out she was also a victim of fetal alcohol syndrome but the fact that a young woman is being pimped out is not having consensual sex. She is hard to understand until you find out about the fetal alcohol syndrome which explains some of her impulsiveness and lack of reasoning ability. Once she gets on the right track, thanks to education programs in prison she decided to help others and there was her path to self worth and motivation to keep on the right track. Very well written although difficult to read at times it does help to explain how girls get in these situations and even go back to their abusers. I am glad she is getting a second chance.
