The greatest movie ever made, bar none. Forget Citizen Kane. Forget Casablanca. THIS is the standard by which all others are judged. This type of cinematic perfection has yet to be reproduced anywhere since and probably never will. From Clint's steely eyed stare, to Tuco's wild feral look, to Angel Eyes' cold cruel demeanor, this movie presents a believably effective character study of 3 very different personalities all vying for the same goal: a fortune in military cash. One of them will do everything to get it, one of them will do anything to get it, and the third will do anything to get it first and keep the other two from succeeding. Brilliant cinematography, acting (especially from the late great Eli Wallach) directing (from the equally late and great Sergio Leone) along with an unforgettable soundtrack (by the brilliant musical prodigy Ennio Morricone) and remarkable set pieces combine to create an epic of timeless proportions. The movie even looks incredible despite being filmed in the late 60's! If you love movies, if you appreciate a good story along with nail biting action, you cannot go through life without seeing this one. THE GOOD: Everything. THE BAD: Nothing. THE UGLY: The bad and the ugly have passed. God rest their souls.
