June 1 2013, I guess I could say I started this today, but I'm reading 4 books at a time (Into the Abyss, Reluctant Pioneer, The Kiss, and Prisoners of the North,) so which one will win out as my "main" read, remains to be seen! (I might read this one first, as it is very small) (and interesting too!).....June 2, finished this today. The description given in the "item details" is a very good summary. I don't think I can do better than that. In reading the book, I was transfixed, disturbed, mesmerized, horrified. I had to keep reminding myself that it was not a novel, as what I was reading was so disturbing that I found it hard to get my mind around the fact that it was true. I will read more of Kathryn's books. She truly is a gifted writer, and a very brave one also. This story will stick with me, and I will be sure to remember it in times of adversity. Going to pass it on to a friend before I return it. Should spark some great conversation!
