In a foreseeable future, our conscience is replaced with an app called Lux. Every decision that people make, they must first consult with Lux. Whether it’s what kind of drink they should order, or what college they should apply to. The society is brainwashed by this app but the protagonist, Rory, is not as convinced about Lux’s abilities. She begins to hear a voice within her, telling her to make decisions that seem “irrational”. By using her conscience, she learns about the true nature of Gnosis, the company that developed Lux. All in all, the book was…interesting. The concept of this book was what caught my attention. Imagine what life would be like in twenty years. The ending of this book, however, was a bit too rushed. - @Vaseline of the Teen Review Board at the Hamilton Public Library
