Please watch this movie! We think the critics got this one wrong (they rated it only 50%)! Their main complaints were regarding the triangular romance. While yes, that part was a bit lacking, it was really only a vehicle to give you a picture of their lives before the movie's real focus: the systematic persecution and execution of Armenian people by the Turkish government at the beginning of WWI. This should be common knowledge, just as the Holocaust of WWII is! History DOES repeat itself if we let it. We definitely side with the audience rating of 95%, giving it a solid 4 stars. By the way, although many believe the title refers to the promise of marriage (and maybe it does), we believe it also means the promise of hope, survival, and new life for the Armenian people.
