Hayao Miyazaki made a beautiful movie again. He shows us the blend of reality and dreams of the protagonist, how he can visualize and imagine an airplane flying and feel the wind in this drawing board, wonderful! It is hypnotic how in the dream sequences the machines are shown as organic, living beings, not static metal but free, moving pieces, breathing, extending. The story may be felt a little depressing because the end of the main two histories is not happy, but it is real. The dream of building beautiful airplanes, machines that will be used in war, and the love story that has a bad end in sight. Both stories are about embarking yourself in a passion project that you know may not end up well, but that otherwise will not make you complete as a person.
