Ghost is another heartwarming graphic novel by Raina Telgemeier that I enjoyed very much. Although it is titled “Ghosts”, the ghosts are not the scary type, they are portrayed as festive and playful! This makes a nice change since ghosts are usually supposed to be spooky. I also love how this book spreads awareness about cystic fibrosis because Maya, the main character’s little sister is diagnosed with cystic fibrosis. Additionally, this book shows the amazing growth of the main character, Cat (short for Catrina), as she learns about her Mexican culture as well as how to adapt to the new changes going on in her life. It displays her journey of realization that her fears can be overcome and she can enjoy her life, no matter how bad she thinks it has become. 4/5 @stardkdust07 of the Hamilton Public Library's Teen Review Board Ghosts a book by Raina Telgemeier. I give this book a 4 out of five. I give it that simply because of its creativity in the book and how the author touches on a different holiday than Halloween. I am in love with this graphic novel because it uses a different holiday than Halloween. Halloween is my favorite holiday, but I like learning about different holidays and cultures. This book is great because t has a lot of heart and meaning to it. many of the books that I read is very very simple and cut to the chase, but I find that this book takes it slow and that you're in for learning their whole life and why did this happen how did this happen and so on. this book it a very short book which I guess graphic novels can be short because of its a book with pictures. Again I have to say I love the art style that she used to find that it very her and that it is her way of drawing and I am in live wit t. Although it is so simple you can never match the artists' design. I recommend this book to any person who just wants to sit down and read a book in one day. I fell in love with this book and hope that you will too soon. @IceCream of the Teen Review Board at the Hamilton Public Library Ghosts follows the story of a girl and her family as they move away from their town. They have to move because her younger sister is sick, and must be taken to a city where the air is better for her lungs. They move to a smaller city that is known for ghosts. Day of the Dead, a Mexican holiday where they celebrate their loved ones who have passed on, is very popular there. While in the city, they discover many unique things. It is a very heartwarming story, and I personally enjoyed it very much. Day of the Dead has always interested me, so I thought this was a very unique story. I recommend this novel to anyone interested in Day of the Dead, and give it a 5/5. @Gummibee11 of the Teen Review Board at the Hamilton Public Library
