This mixtape hits the listener like a hurricane. The choice of artists to get involved with the project varies from r&b luminaries such as Alicia Keys and Usher to hip-hop stars such as Common and Wiz Khalifa to a bunch of interesting oddities, serving to spice things up even more. For example, piano pop artist Ben Folds stops by to duet with Regina Spektor on "Dear Theodosia", a beautiful track comparing the joy coupled with immense responsibility of parenthood with the whole nation's struggles just getting started. One of the absolute treats is comedian Jimmy Fallon, of all people, singing from the point-of-view of King George III in "You'll Be Back", a twisted anthem of callous possession pushed to hilarious extremes. I'm not much of a fan of the TV star after he left 'Saturday Night Live', but his performance here is incredible. Numerous other songs feature other charming takes on the musical's work. The eclectic tastes involved doesn't take anything away from the power of 'Hamilton'. Personally, I think that it only seems to highlight the songwriting talent of Lin-Manuel Miranda. The album is simply superb.
