I have to admit that I felt unbalanced by this interesting film and I can't say that it's Bad, although certainly odd for a Boyle film as if something didn't quite fit and your left with the feeling "you've just come out of an three hour movie," to quote Jim Carroll and everything around you has suddenly changed while you've remained the same. I watched the Special Features to see if Boyle might give some clue or Hunt's as to the oddly disappeared items in the film and perhaps an explanation though none was forth-coming. I did like the fact that he didn't make things perfect again in the end but I still felt a bit gipped and kind of aggravated wondering, "Where will the disappearing end? He just erased cigarettes and Harry Potter! "
