Regency romance

This genre is defined as novels set in the British Regency period, 1811–1820. This list includes two Classic Regency authors, writers alive and writing at the time, Jane Austen and Maria Edgeworth. This far-from-exhaustive list shows a representative novel for regency romance authors. Most of these books are the first in a series. Enjoy!

  • Since Jane Austen wrote during the Regency period, her books are classic regency fiction. Austen wrote Emma, Mansfield Park, Northanger Abbey and Sanditon, among others.
