A run-in with another traveling witch opens her eyes to the harsh reality of traveling solo. The witch, Laminala, vows to teach Pili all she needs to know about survival in a barren land. Oak keeps watch over Pili, even when her worldview needs a major adjustment. She must challenge her own beliefs before she's ready to start her search for Eden in earnest.--
